Sir James Lester stood over the grave, his head bowed in silence even though his mind whirled with so many questions. Had Lyle really been interested in him? Would a relationship between them have ever worked? Why had Lyle leapt in front of him? Why had the damn man bled out in his arms?
“James?”
Lester started at the familiar voice before spinning around, his facade shattered as he found himself face-to-face with a very much alive Lyle. “How?”
“I don’t know.”
And as Lyle tugged him in for a kiss, Lester decided he didn’t care that question was unanswered.
