A/N: An idea of why Sir James Lester became involved in the anomalies.
When I had heard the rumours floating around the Home Office of dinosaurs and rips in time, I had carefully manoeuvred my way into being given control of the project. Oh, outwardly I affected disdain for it and anyone who believed in such nonsense, but I was an expert at getting what I wanted.
I clearly recalled the tales my grandfather had spun for me as a child, wide-eyed and wondering at his imagination. I also recalled finding his diary and papers hidden away, the photographic evidence of incursions, and had realised he had been telling the truth. Now the anomalies were back, well, someone had to control them and that someone would be me.
I knew I'd have to be on my guard, others had tried to take over the previous project from my grandfather, they had even tried to kill him, and I knew people hadn't changed. They were still greedy and short-sighted, and I knew far too many sharks who would happily see me hang if they could increase their own power, no matter who else suffered.
