James sighed as he stared at the photo. No matter how much pain it caused him, he couldn't put it away.
James frowned as he heard Abby's yell of “Rex!” He looked up just in time to duck the troublesome lizard. James opened his mouth to yell for Abby when Rex landed on his desk and butted his hand. Softly trilling until James tentatively stroked Rex's head.
James sensed he was being watched and looked up to see Abby smiling at him. When Rex chirped for attention, James resumed stroking him. After all, he'd already been caught in the act.
