Good: So I won. Go me. I finished my Clapotis yesterday around 3 and only had the two ends to weave in. I took it to work today so that everyone could pet it and see its lusciousness after hearing me yammer on and on about it. (Malabrigo worsted merino in what looks like Tuareg but is really emerald... sort of a dusky bluish green.) It's soft and snuggly and pretty and feels wonderful.
Not-so-good: Of course, as I suspected, it's too short on my Amazon frame. I may be able to block it, but as it stands it won't stay wrapped unless I keep my arms clenched at my sides. And, naturally, if I wanted to go back and make it longer, I'd not only have to buy another skein and hope it matched, but I'd have to rip out the entire decrease triangle and reconstruct the dropped stitches. This did occur to me earlier in the game, but I wanted to finish.
Maybe I will just buy a scarf pin and send it up to my great-grandma after all. I just feel so bummed out. Great yarn, not enough time or supplies, tough to figure out while knitting if it will work out in the end.
