The Elegance of the Hedgehog, muriel barberry: i did not finish this stupid book. am i really supposed to care that a concierge doesn't want her tenants to know that she reads tolstoy? ok, so the bits that are narrated by a precocious 12 year old are charming - that always works - but the bulk of the novel has no jeopardy. so i quit. read with The Professor and the Housekeeper, truly a novel with secrets.
