The Manual of Detection, jedediah berry: like a mashup of sensibilities, maybe lemony snicket writing The Shadow of the Wind. actually, it reminds me most of the movie Dark City, crossed with a 50s screwball comedy, like Dark City written by Preston Sturges. read with The Crying of Lot 49.
Swim the Fly, don calame: when i finished it i thought it was adorable, but also that i didn't know that many words for parts of the feminine anatomy. the Wookie's Smile? never heard that one. read with An Abundance of Katherines.
