Mmm, summer.
I can liken my summer so far to the peach pie a la mode I made last week - kinda plain, not too exciting... but oh so delicious!
I'm working for my dad in his office, splitting my time between research and taking patients' vitals. I swear, one of these days my heart is going to burst from my chest out of pride for my dad. Not a day goes by that I don't hear from my coworkers (his employees) and patients alike how wonderful he is. And I see it, too! If he gets a call and someone needs him, he'll drop everything and help out, even if he winds up running 2 hours late! He's also a battery-powered robot, I've decided, often starting the day in the OR at 6:30am, and not getting home until he finishes making rounds at 8pm. Coolest. Dad. Ever. Anyways, the upshot is that I'm even more sure I want to be a doctor. What a job!!
The rest of my days have been spent with three things: family, MCAT, and oh yeah, DRAGON AGE! Most addicting game ever. Don't start, you won't be able to stop until 38 HOURS LATER you still haven't beaten the game yet! And then you'll start thinking about the game all day... HORRIBLE!
Oh, and I've started going to Mass every morning, too... but I dunno, I feel odd about it. Like I'm not cool enough to be a "Daily Mass Person" yet. I spend all that darned time playing video games... I should be reading JP2, or Thomas Aquinas, or Aristotle, or C.S. Lewis, or any number of things on my reading list. Or heck, the Bible!! Today the first reading was from the book of Lamentations! I hadn't even HEARD of that book before! UNACCEPTABLE.
Also unacceptable: ALL THE STUFF I'M NOT DOING! Namely, APO. And sending an email to that instructor about a UROP..................
Tomorrow, I'll do it tomorrow...
