Checking in
The past week:
Thursday: Boulder to work with Meghan - turns out half of the department was there. Farmers market was okay. Met up with multiple incoming students late night.
Friday: Got a titch of work done, went to Spin, visited apartments with Kris & magpiesd. Got one landlord to call me "Uncle Neil" and another to promise me, er, "whatever I wanted" in exchange for hooking him up with new tenants. Magnolia's for dinner, where the waitress billed me for "cup - religion", in reference to my discussion of their signature soup (cream of tomato with artichokes and some cheese). Dr John & Madeleine Peyroux concert with magpiesd, Kris, laurelannlucy. Joachim's 30th birthday party. Good times.
Saturday: Dinosaur lunch in Pittsford, got a library card for the first time in a very long time, drank sangria at 4 PM on my sunporch, BBQ at Joel's.
Sunday: early AM airport run, fantastic flea market trip with antinats and magpiesd, Thali buffet with the latter 2 + groorg1, Parkleigh for coffee & NY Times, Abbott's, airport run, The Last Waltz, airport run.
Monday: Yoga, Starbucks, new contacts from a hilarious eye doctor (we discussed bread recipes), new white shirt, super-duper failed attempt at Birkenstocks... rest of it's a blur. Probably some TV & ice cream & generally being the sorority girl that I am.
Tuesday: Came to campus, then went home to work. But there was a power outage. (Our second in about as many weeks?) I amused myself for a little while, then when the power came back I took a nap.
Wednesday: I rocked some Praat scripts for the nasality project. That is all that matters. Rocked.
Followups:
-My peripatetic package finally arrived, at my delightful Lattimore office. I now have 4 1/8" splitters. What to do, what to do.
-None of you guessed correctly about my first kiss, in Catharine, NY with a girl named Katie Austin. (Not to be confused with the fictional character Kate Austen of Lost fame.)
I've been up since 6:45 and not done nearly enough with myself. Grah. This post has been a procrastination/organization technique. Honestly... Now I'll eat some dried mango & skim that article.
