Wow, it's late

Mar 27, 2006 01:41

It's 1:40 AM and I just put in the oven 2 banana bread loaves for tomorrow morning's 9:30 class breakfast. With luck, the minor substitutions will remain minor. And with luck, I'll read at least one article before class. And with WAY more like, I'll wake up and feel alive in time for class.

The weekend was really good. We got to Steve's house around 1 Thursday night, did the campus tour thing, wandered downtown/Harbor/Fells with MP, then went back to CV to meet up with the rest of the Doug AND BOOSH!!!!! Rocky Run for dinner, followed by some embarassing/great karaoke, which involved falsetto and welding goggles and pellet guns. Saturday was chill as well, with trips to Pete's & the Book Thing. LSDave suggested a Wine Source trip, which allowed me to complete 3(!) booze-related quests in one brief visit. Kids went off to the wedding, and Andy & Jill met up with me & Steve for dinner. Thus, 410 met 585 and 585 met 202 and 410 met 607. Nice nice nice. I've shrunk my world almost as far as possible. Here's to keeping it up. Oh, and a stop at Brewers Art was greatly enjoyed.

Leah & I got brunch this morning at One World where we ran into the Astins. JA didn't quite remember me, but I didn't expect him to, 4 years after I took his class. My parting words to him were that I'd seen him last night in Teen Wolf Too. "Oh, yes! With a rottweiler!" Requisite 3rd Eddie's trip in as many days, followed by Xando, then Trader Joe's. It's entirely possible that it's just as near to Rochester as any other TJ location, at least in driving time if not raw miles. Made it home around 11:30 and tried to go to bed, but no use, hence the baking.

Again, I'll say the weekend was really good. It was nice to get out of Rochester -- stuff that's been on my mind here didn't LEAVE my mind, but at least I got some distance. Some minor hiccups in my thoughts and feelings and the weekend have been pretty worked out. And it's a funny feeling to be around people you felt like you grew up with and say "We're grownups now." More meditation on this is needed.

coffeekat, I'm sorry we didn't get to meet up. Things got a bit unpredictable with some surprise visitors. Sorry sorry. I'll make it up to you next time we're in the same town (likely in the next 3 months).

Garage sale & flea market season is coming up, and that's exciting. My nose reminds me that allergy season is also coming up. Shootybutt.
