No, I think the idea of this egullet/NYT thing is, if you shop once a week: don't shop one week. You go two weeks between trips.

When I lived in Rochester, I used to get groceries at 11:30pm on Thursdays (after ER [the tv show]). It was fun to shop in eerily-empty Wegmans, but my main incentive was that the roads were empty then, because I did not feel confident in traffic with "my" stick-shift car.

Here we shop at Genuardi's, Fresh Grocer, Trader Joe's, and the New Jersey Weg's, depending on what we want and how motivated we are, and what other errands we're running.
