[There's a brief pause before the audio turns on, and as usual, he sounds pretty matter-of-fact, if not indifferent.]

Now that that's over:

How many of you happy people aren't actually natives?

I am certainly not native to this place.

To be honest, I don't think any of us are.

Even those that are from Gotham?

Since they were brought here like the rest of us, I'm inclined to think so.

An interesting theory, but unfortunately not one I can test.

It's been proven in the past that there are multiple Earths. Multiple Gothams.

That's not the part that needs testing.

I am willing to buy the multiple Earths theorem, as it neatly explains the differences between here and the Earth I called home.

However, testing the other part, that even the people from Gotham are not from this Gotham is a little difficult.

There are several ways one might go about such a test, but there might still be room for doubt.

There's always room for doubt.

It's not just a spacial difference. It's also a matter of time.

I am aware of the temporal displacement, as I have experienced it first hand. I would be curious how the city of Gotham here and the world in general matches up to the history those that are familiar with Gotham know.

There are no doubt discrepancies between the history I know and history here, given that, at the very least, an entire city exists that did not in my world.

The people most familiar with Gotham's history are the Bat clan. I've been to Gotham before this but not for an extended period.

It happens.

You tried the local library?

I have little interest in pursuing the differences in history. There is more productive work to be done.

Indeed. My research has been quite enlightening.

Anything worth sharing with the rest of the class?

Research is expensive. The results of my work go for a very high price these days.

Another time, maybe.
