So, last night, I reluctantly announced to my roommate that I couldn't go out because I had a midterm. At 8:30 this morning. In kin- easily my worst subject. Boohoo.
Sympathetic to my plight, she convinces me to sit down and have one cup of irish hot chocolate with her, since I've done most of my studying and the only real reason not to go out is to go to bed early and get to the exam well rested. All right, I decide, what can it hurt?
Well, slightly tipsy after my VERY strong hot chocolate, I set my alarm clock, study a little more, and decide to wake up at six am in order to get to school in plenty of time to review my notes before the test. What could possibly go wrong?
I wake up at 7:41 am and scramble into my clothes in order to catch the 7:54 am bus- which comes five minutes away from my house. I make it, barely. My 6 am alarm clock was set for 6 pm. It's a miracle I opened my eyes at all.
The moral of this story is to trust my own judgement forever more- or at least to set the alarm clock BEFORE the one festive drink, not afterwards.
