Bad timing is my thing...

Why do I only do this when there is an impending deadline that dooms it from the start? Is it a conscious thing, some sort of self defense mechanism, or do i just have really shitty timing? Maybe i just enjoy diving in and getting myself in over my head.

Either way, it really sucks, and i'd like to stop doing it.
