John came up yesterday and we looked at pet friendly apartments in the Waterford Lakes area. They're horribly expensive... approx. $1200-$1500 a month for a 3/2. The one we ended up liking the best (it had the most convenient location for me... I could see a Crispers from the community and a bus stop right outside... the best amenities, the nicest looking apartments) was, of course, the most expensive community. It is cheaper to rent a condo or a townhouse from a person instead of from a community, but John doesn't feel safe doing that. The second best apartments were in Tortuga Bay (I think John liked this community because it had turtle pictures everywhere) but they have a strict pet policy and would count Turtlus in their two pet maximum... they even count fish. WTF. It was also less convenient for me. In fact, all the other communities (except the one John liked least) were a bit out of the way for a pedestrian, but meh, I'm used to walking everywhere.
There are a few more apartment complexes to look at. (The rest aren't open on Sundays.)
First things first, John needs to get this job or else we're back to square one. :( It's really frustrating not knowing where you're going to be in a couple of months. I still have the lease here at Northgate, but it's getting harder and harder to pay my bills.
Rented Lars and the Real Girl and Saawariya from Blockbuster. The former was fantastic. I'm finding it hard to get into Saawariya though. I usually enjoy Bollywood films, but even though the scenery is beautiful, I just find the rest of the movie to be silly.
