I watched Extract again. Mike Judge gets better with every movie.
And I guess I deserve some kind of reward in that I noticed Mila Kunis before her big break this December?
I mean, That '70's Show was usual network shit I never watched, and to hear Tommy Chong talk about it, I didn't miss anything.
And Seth MacFarlane and Seth Green haven't stopped praising her for years, but I guess people named Seth don't count. So ignore them.
Mila's role in Extract is just so great. She really gets to play every facet of the brunette bombshell role, while never truly redeeming the character nor apologizing in any other way. The credits scenes almost underwrite the character, and I, for one, could have done without them, but it's sort of fun to see the Gene Simmons-played ambulance chaser get his comeuppance.
Mostly, I know Vince Mancini bases movie trailers on nut shots, and I'm increasingly starting to agree with him on that equation, but Extract is basically centered around a nut shot. And it's a good one. (Though, honestly, I don't know if it was in the trailer, I never saw one that I can remember.) Maybe Mike Judge is the exception to several rules. Including ones based around him, I guess...
