She's not normally this scantily clad Personality:
She cares very deeply for her family and when she thought Lelouch and Nunnally were dead, she carried that as a burden on her shoulders, secretly investigating their deaths. Furthermore, she admired their mother, Marianne, very much and spent a lot of time after her death trying to piece together what happened. Marianne was the epitome of both strength and beauty, the latter being something Cornelia seems to discard as she rises to positions of power in the military and government. She becomes cutthroat and ruthless, ordering cities to be annihilated just to make a point. She has no regard for the cities she is trying to reform, nor does she care about the individuals she murders in order for people to bend to the will of the Britannian Empire.
Cornelia has a strong distrust and prejudice against foreigners, even those with Honorary Britannian status, and would prefer to be successful in her endeavors without their assistance. When her younger sister Euphemia wanted to make Suzaku her knight, Cornelia disagreed and thought she should have chosen someone who was Britannian by blood. Though she seems to take a decimating approach in most situations, she has a soft spot for Euphemia, such that she prioritizes Euphemia's safety over the achievement of her objectives. However, her sister’s death affects her a lot. She wasn’t able to be there with her when she took her last breath, so I imagine that Cornelia feels deep-rooted guilt for allowing Euphemia to proceed with the Special Administrative Zone of Japan. If she had prevented her sister from going through with such a tenacious initiative, she most likely would still be alive. Euphemia is the only sibling born from the same mother, so Cornelia is/was even more protective of her than her other siblings.
Initially, she puts all of her effort and focus into taking revenge on the Black Knights once her sister dies, namely, Zero. She hardens her heart so that she can deal with the loss of the most precious person in her life. She’s so bent on vengeance that she compromises her sanity and ultimately loses to Lelouch, who, per usual, uses underhanded tactics (Geass) to best her. When he reveals his identity to her, she is shocked, knowing that he did this for Nunnally, but believing that his plan to create a new world is crazy. Especially at the expense of Euphemia and Clovis. But after Lelouch uses his Geass on her, she disappears. When she reappears, it is obvious that she has changed. She’s tamer and has become more level headed. She seems to be questioning the efforts of her families’ empire and has adopted a slightly more ethical view of the world and her actions. Her hair is longer and her appearance is noticeably more feminine than it was before she vanished. This is to signify that she has changed since Euphie’s death.
When she returns, she has gone rogue in an effort to seek the cause of Geass and find those who have killed her siblings. She locates the place where V.V. and Jeremiah Gottwald have made their base and confronts General Bartley. He asks for her help and expresses his fear that the Emperor's plans might cause the end of the world. This instills doubt in her heart, and only furthers her drive for answers. After escaping V.V., she uses an Akatsuki to damage V.V.’s Siegfried, which gives Lelouch (as Zero) the upper hand. He and Cornelia deliver the final blow to V.V. together, something she would have never been able to do before. The opposition to Schneizel's plan to point the Damocles at places where there is war is the culmination of her transformation. She has always trusted him and willingly worked with him, thinking they shared the same views. Her refusal to go through with his plan shows that she is no longer bent on destroying lives for the purpose of expanding the Britannian empire or beating their brother. She wants to believe, like her sister, that killing violence with violence will not ultimately create peace.
Her interactions with Schneizel are, perhaps, the only other close sibling relationship that appears in the series. She seems to trust him, even after it becomes obvious that he is withholding information from her. Although she has her suspicions, she continues to play along by his side, standing by him when he makes the decision to allow Nunnally to fire the FLEIJA warhead. It's clear that she is having doubts about whether it is right or wrong to bring someone so innocent into the war, especially since she is only being used as a pawn to render Lelouch unstable. She knows that Lelouch's claim is that he is doing all of this for Nunnally, and that it would behoove them to have her on their side, but she cannot easily stomach the thought of manipulating her with only half truths, especially since she knows the burden one carries when he or she crosses that line and becomes a murderer. In some ways, she knows that duping their younger sister this way is no better than what Lelouch did to Euphie, and that would make her a hypocrite.
Futhermore, if he is willing to involve Nunnally in this way, it's obvious that she is wondering if Schneizel would do the same to her own sister. Or even herself. If he is capable of such thoughtlessness, how far is he willing to go to beat their brother? She asks to speak to him alone because she truly believes that if there is anyone who can reason with him, she is the most capable person. Their familiarity toward one another and the fact that they are the same age indicates that they have spent a lot of time together when they were younger, before their paths diverged. She ends up taking on a prominent militaristic role while he chooses a more tactical route. Although they have decided to offer their strengths in different areas, she wants nothing more than to make sure that they are on the same page when it comes to the war with the Black Knights. She no longer wishes to create change through fear and destruction. Especially if it will cost them innocent lives.
But when he has her shot, she realizes that she has been fooled, yet again, by another one of her siblings. It isn't until she wakes up in the hospital that she understands Schneizel never intended to kill her. He hasn't the desire to kill and he isn't driven by what he wants personally, but by making whatever sacrifices are necessary in order to create the world he envisions. This doesn't necessarily excuse the means, but she can respect that if the world had been different, if it wasn't so corrupted by violence and greed, Schneizel would have made a good ruler.
Cornelia is headstrong. Although she is smart, it is more likely that she will overcome opposing forces with brawn instead of her brain. This is obvious when she is unable to make her point clear to Schneizel. As soon as she strongly opposes his view, she draws her sword to convince him by force. It is true that she has hardened her heart over the years from the numbness she accumulated through bloodshed in battles and having lost family members she loved dearly. She has a tough outer shell, but is not completely devoid of compassion underneath all of the harshness and corruption of war.
She doesn’t come across as overly affectionate to anyone but her younger sister Euphemia, and even then, her demeanor is more protective than warm. She once tells her sister not to refer to her informally in public, and to instead call her Viceroy. Even so, she is very family oriented and will likely always place them above others. Although she is a physical person, being fully trained in combat, when it comes to expressing the tamer emotions (loyalty, love, gentleness), she mostly does that internally or through subtle exchanges. It's not that she isn't moved by a person's actions or by her sentiments toward the people she loves, but I think she has devoted a large portion of her life to becoming as strong as possible, and it has hindered her emotional growth into womanhood.
She shows compassion and forgiveness towards Villetta when she is relieved of Lelouch's control and is able to return to the side of Britannia. While she might have rebuked her or ordered her death for committing traitorous crimes, as well as being so weakened by sentiments such as love, in the beginning of the series, it's clear that after having seen what Geass can do to a person and after having lost the most important person in her life, she is able to understand what it is to care about someone from a less selfish point of view.
It is probably safe to gather that she has never dated anyone. Her childhood and adolescent years were focused on training and becoming an appointed official in the Britannian army at a fairly young age. It would seem that her Knight, Gilbert G.P. Guilford, has feelings for her that may or may not be reciprocated. At the very least, she is the most important person in his life and when he took the vow to protect her, he truly meant it. In return, he seems to be one of the only people she completely trusts. One of the first things she asks Schneizel upon her return is about Guilford's whereabouts as she is concerned for his safety. She attends Villetta and Ougi's wedding with Guilford. Whether or not they are dating or romantically involved is not clear, but they remain close even after he is no longer technically her knight. Moreover, when she wakes up in the hospital, he is the person that is by her side, crying and showing remorse for confusing her identity while under the influence of Geass. She gazes at him with a gentle expression that is fairly uncharacteristic and takes his hand, which shows that she is thankful for his survival and for his loyalty after everything that has happened.
History:
Well, for starters, she is the second princess of the Britannian Imperial family and also Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Army. Cornelia is a skillful pilot of a customized Gloucester Knightmare Frame, and is very well respected by her officers, including her knight Gilbert G.P. Guilford, who commands the Glaston Knights. When her brother Clovis is killed, she leaves the Eastern Area 18, where she has established Britannian rule, and she goes to Area 11 to apprehend his murderer. Once there, she initiates a military campaign against Zero and the Black Knights, unaware that her brother Lelouch (Zero) is behind the terrorist attacks.
During a terrorist operation, her sister Euphemia is involved and held hostage. Although she is returned safely, Cornelia is very concerned for her safety and ultimately decides that she should have a knight. She doesn’t approve of Euphemia’s choice to appoint Suzaku Kururugi (being that he is only an honorary Britannian), but since her sister is the most precious person to her, she concedes.
One of the breaking points for her is when her sister Euphemia establishes the Special Administration of Japan, and dies in the process of seeing her dream of peace come to fruition. After her death, Cornelia vows to take down the Black Knights and launches an attack on Tokyo. She most likely would have succeeded, but one of her officers (Darlton) is Geassed and underhandedly disarms her Gloucester, as well as wounds her. She would have become a hostage for Lelouch then and there, but Jeremiah Gottwald, another officer attacks him.
Lelouch, then reveals his identity to her, and she is overwhelmed with both hatred and empathy as she realizes that he was doing everything for his sister Nunnally. However, she still cannot accept his actions because people who were dear to her died in the process. Lelouch Geasses her and asks her who was responsible for his mother’s death. Cornelia admits that she was in charge of security the day Marianne, his mother, died, but that she had been ordered by her to remove security at the palace. When Lelouch cannot accept that answer, he continues to question her, but the only other information she can give him is that their brother, Schneizel el Britannia, was the one to take her body away.
Later, as she lies there severely wounded, she calls Suzaku to her side and offers him the official title as knight. She also asks that he keep her injury a secret. She disappears from public view for a long time and finally shows up later, her appearance changed, as well as her uniform. When she reappears, she has gone rogue in an effort to seek the cause of Geass and find those who have killed her siblings. She finds the base where V.V. and Jeremiah Gottwald have made their base and confronts General Bartley. He asks for her help and expresses his fear that the Emperors plans might cause the end of the world.
Cornelia is then captured by V.V. She manages to escape during a battle between the Black Knights and the Directorate. She uses an Akatsuki to damage V.V.’s Siegfried, which allows Lelouch (as Zero) the upper hand and Cornelia and him deliver the final blow to V.V. together. Jeremiah saves her from being hurt by the debris from the Siegfried and when he brings her before Lelouch, he decides to take her as prisoner. She is able to escape during the second battle of Tokyo, joining Schneizel when he arrives on the envoy. She tells him everything she has learned and he informs her that he plans to usurp the throne. She is uncertain about his decision, but doesn’t object.
However, when Cornelia learns of Schneizel’s plan to position Damocles so that it will hit the entire world, she attempts to stop him, but is shot. She disappears, assumed as dead, but is later seen in the hospital with Guilford, her wounds being treated. Once she fully heals, she leads a small resistance to take down Lelouch as emperor. When he is assassinated, they take advantage of the confusion in order to restore order. She is seen with Guilford during Viletta and Ougi’s wedding.
Abilities:
Cornelia is usually seen wielding a sword-gun that has the letter “C” in gold on it. She is very skilled with a Knightmare Frame and can pilot any model. She doesn’t have any special powers outside of her proficiency with a sword, gun or piloting. Being from a royal family, she is probably very skilled with hand-to-hand combat

Third
Cornelia felt dread gripping her heart as she listened to the sound of her brother’s voice echoing throughout the room. What Schneizel was describing-it was not any way to bring a world together. Not by striking fear into the hearts of the people they were supposed to be protecting.
Wiping whole countries off the map just to make a statement… just so that they are not under Lelouch’s reign.
It was downright cruel… Even more so, it was deceitful to all of the people who thought they were fighting for a nobler cause.
She didn’t understand. Cornelia thought the purpose of showing Nunnally to Lelouch as his opposing force would help end this. After all, that was his reason for fighting. Instead, there had been more lies and manipulation and with no ending to war in sight, Schneizel wanted to point the Damocles at every place in the world currently at war?
Nunnally held the key to so many lives in her own hands and she had no idea, no inkling of what power she possessed just with one click of that button. It would destroy her if she knew how many deaths had occurred at her hands as she blindly followed them in their crusade to bring about world peace. Lying to her just so that she would remain strong as she fought against her own brother, it was unforgivable.
She felt an uneasiness creeping up her legs, making her sway where she stood. Nausea gripped her stomach and a drop of sweat glistened on her brow.
He wasn’t a God, and to pretend he could assume that role in such a treacherous manner, she wouldn’t allow it. She couldn't allow it! Cornelia permitted his words to infiltrate in her mind once more as they fueled her anger.
”Even if 100 or 200 million people’s lives are sacrificed, an eternal peace is…”
Raising her chin in a quick motion, Cornelia fixed him with a defiant glare, her hand moving to her sword as she stepped forward.
“You’re wrong!”
She unsheathed the blade, her cape whipping sharply behind her at the movement. Pointing the sword at her brother, she shouted, “A forced peace is…”
But she was unable to finish her statement. As she moved forward, Schneizel snapped his fingers, the sound making her balk for a moment while fear flooded her ire. She recognized what was going to happen even before the spray of bullets hit her. In slow motion, she felt her limbs refusing to respond. Her legs crumbled and she found his face disappearing from view as she reeled forward, the room around her blurring as her body met the ground.
Sample journal entry [VIDEO]:
First
[The sound of choking and spitting is heard before the screen displays a blur of fuchsia and red. It's the red that lingers, however, as a hand unconsciously touches the screen, leaving behind three streaks of blood before it then presses on an open wound. To anyone familiar with firearms, it will probably be obvious that she has been shot several times. The blood stained teeth and choking coughs are proof of internal bleeding, while the pale, ashen face and dilating pupils show that she is having trouble remaining conscious. And if you are familiar with the unique shade of lilac-colored eyes that peer at her surroundings in confusion, then you probably have met one or more of her siblings, which happen to have arrived before her.
Cornelia is most certainly dreaming. At least, that is what she thinks as she struggles to push herself into a standing position on the stone steps. Her memories seem to come back in one, painful gasp. Her brother, Schneizel, watching her with empty, soulless eyes, the deafening sound of him snapping his fingers, and the way the world seemed to warp around her when the first bullet hit. And then the second. And then the third. Until she lost count and the only thing she could see was the two eyes still staring at her, unconcerned and apathetic as she lost her balance and fell forward. She was still looking for them even when the darkness enveloped her. Waiting for his expression to change. Waiting for the person she believed she knew to emerge from that unfamiliar gaze.
And she might have continued to believe that every part of it was just a terrible dream, except for the pain she feels is very real. Although the bullets don't seem to have hit any vital organs, the warm sticky substance escaping through her fingertips refuses to coagulate. She coughs again, spitting out more blood and falling back down even before she has completely stood up.
The dizzying swirl of earthy tones in front of her eyes causes her to blink as she raises a hand to her forehead, only to discover a twiggy knotted circular ornament on her head. A moment later, she tosses it down in disdain, as one might discard an unwanted gift, leaving the communicator where it still broadcasts on the steps. She settles for dragging herself down the stairs, ignoring the unpleasant, sweet scent invading her nostrils.
She doesn't recognize this place. This nightmare. She's become delusional. It feels like something she might have read in a storybook when she was a child. Not reality. Something foreign. Unfamiliar. And strangely terrifying for someone who hardly feels any sort of fear.
Her eyes begin to focus on a large, temple-like structure looming in front of her. By then, the hand trying to close up the wound slips away and she is feebly struggling for the gun-sword sheathed at her side. She knows that the world is beginning to fade around her again. That there has been too much blood loss and she will soon be accompanied by darkness again. But in her usual fashion, Cornelia looks like she is ready to defend herself until that moment.]
