I have not posted about much over the last couple of months (even longer here on LJ). There are a couple of reasons for this. For one, we've been busy as usual with everything that we do. Fall shows, busy social life, holiday season orders and getting ready for Sherwood Forest Faire. And for the other, I've been a bit preoccupied with what could have been serious, but it turns out that it isn't. For the last couple of months (and more intensely in the last month), I've been seeing several doctors. I've been poked, prodded, examined and scanned.
It all started with a routine physical. I hadn't had one since high school (about 24 years). Blood was drawn and they found an anomaly in my blood platelet count. It was later retested. This time, another anomaly popped up. "Low white blood cell count" never sounded scarier. I was soon off to see an oncologist. Then a gastroenterologist. I got an MRI and CT scans.
I didn't want anyone to be alarmed or think the worst. So, we kept this close in till we found out what was going on. The good news is that ALL of the most serious things have been ruled out. Cancer, tumors, HIV, Hepatitis, etc. I still have issues and I still have to see more doctors, but much of the weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Anything discovered at this point should be fairly easy to handle. We are still working with the GI and will likely be working with others to determine what may be going on with my body. I'll keep everyone posted. Just know that I am fine and mostly very healthy (every other health related tests were all excellent). There's just a couple of minor issues causing minor discomforts.
cross-posted everywhere.
