Soap Making

Sep 09, 2008 14:16

I've been making a bunch of soap lately. One of the batches failed big time. It doesn't look right, doesn't smell right and it's squishy soft. I think I know what happened.

But anyway... Since we do several Ren Faires and such, we decided to go with a pirate theme for it. It will be called Pirate Soap. We're going to start with 6 scents and go from there. Here they are with brief descriptions. I'm not done with all the writing for them yet. So what I have so far my very well change.

Pirate's Arse (manly scent with cedar, patchouli, ylang ylang, sage, etc - this is the one that failed)

You've been ou' on th' seas fer far too long. An' yer stench brings tears t' th' eye like nay onion possibly could. `Tis time t' reach fer a bar an' lather yer ripe olde booty. After all, ye`ve got wenches t' be seein'.

Filthy Wench (orange blossom, lavender, tea tree, rosemary, bergamot, etc)

It takes a lot t' wash away th' smell o' gentleman o' fortunes that ben pawin' ye all day. Filthy Wench soap wipes th' buccaneer off an' leaves a clean fresh scent.

Barnacle Scrub (cedar & sage)

Swashbucklin` be hard work. Ye`ve got more barnacles on ye than th` ship. Chisel off them beasties with Barnacle Scrub.

Scurvy Soap (lime, coriander, bergamot, cardamom, etc)

**Don't know what to write for this one. You can't eat the soap, but scurvy does cause rashes so maybe I can put something in there about that.

Cabin Boy Soap (sweet orange, lavender, rose)

Well shiver me timbers! So, ye`ve got yerself a cabin boy fer th' voyage. Make th' lad smell like th' girl that he be with Cabin Boy Soap. It will remind ye o' th' lass ye left back home.

Gypsy Foot Soap (oatmeal, peppermint, peppermint tea)

**OK, not exactly pirate, but it does fit in with the ren faires we vend at. Don't know what to write on this one.

pirate, serendipity haven, middlefaire, soap
