I had this stack of Playstation games that I beat (multiple times) and finished playing awhile back. They were just collecting dust. Not many places deal in PS1 games. In Bastrop I found a place that does take used PS1 games. They even deal in games and systems as far back as Atari 2600. So I went there with about 12 or 13 games (and 4 memory cards) to trade them in. I expected to maybe get about $40. It turns out that 3 of the games I had were collectors items. They paid me $80 for those 3 (Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy: Tactics). All told I got $125 for everything! Couldn't believe it! I bought 6 more games and still have a $45 credit. I'm going to let Maia have at the rest so she can add to her VG collection.
The moral of the story is that it pays to play the good games and hang on to them for a bunch of years.
It did turn out that I could have made more money if I had gone online to hock them on ebay or something (about $60 more for the 3 games above). But it was worth it to just hand them over and not have to deal with shipping and listing and fees and the post office. Totally worth it.
