Lovely little story! Sweet Watson, always worrying about Holmes and Holmes being quite considerate for once, and for Mary!

Thank you.

Yes, Watson never puts anyone before himself. But Holmes is rather the more thoughtful than many give him credit for being - including me, if I am honest, until quite recently, when I started to analyse him - and I probably should write up a character analysis on him one day, because I could easily turn this post into an essay or lecture upon the things that I have noticed and the conclusions drawn. Here is not the place.

Should you ever go ahead with the analysis, I'll most surely read it!

Lovely story. :)
I would like to read your analysis too. There are definitely points in the ACD canon especially that show Holmes can be very thoughtful when the whim takes him.

Thank you. I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Then I certainly will have to write it. The thing that I like the most about Holmes and Watson - and the element that makes them such real, believable characters - is that they both have moods and responses that will influence and change their behaviour. It will be an enjoyable undertaking.
