An "outsider" called me a choreographer today, which was just all sorts of awesome. Usually, when someone wishes to explain what I do when I'm not at my desk here, they say I'm a dancer. Which ... is true. Mostly.
But my real skillz are not in that area; I'm more, ah, talented (?) with choreography.
So I have to post today a brief but exultant 'thank you' to the people who continue to put dance reality shows on tv. Finally, there's a reality show I can stand to watch.
That's glory number one.
Glory number two is that this show - So You Think You Can Dance, specifically - gives some air time to the choreographers, so Americans are starting to know their names, which is just unfathomable. The fact that I can talk about Mia Michaels or Wade Robsen to my co-workers is like a naughty sekrit teenage fantasy of mine. Someday we'll get highbrow enough to talk about Martha Graham and other pioneers, but for now, I'm in love with our modern society.
The fact that my chosen ... side career ... was mentioned by name is just like orgasmic. Seriously.
