Dragon*Con, Lycanthrophile, & Random Thoughts

My good friend lycanthrophile is coming to visit! YAY! She'll also be going to Dragon*Con with my and my daughter...this promises to be a great trip :G: Got lots of planning to do.
Speaking of Dragon*Con...This will be my third year to attend and I can't wait. My inner geek is squealing with fangirl glee. Last year I bought custom fangs, they're quite cool. During homecoming week at school, we have a goth/prep day, so I dressed in all black and wore my fangs. The students had a good time getting me to bare my fangs, so to speak LOL.
This year I'm gonna get costume contacts. I have to order them cause I'm near-sighted and need prescription lenses, but you can see the ones I plan to get here. Thanks to lycanthrophile for helping me decide which ones to get :)
Other random thoughts...
Today's my birthday and as of today I've lost 15 1/2 pounds! Woot! My folks have been asking me what I want for my birthday, but I really couldn't think of anything except money to support my manga habit (which has gotten quite bad, to be honest hehe). Then it occurred to me this morning to see if they would go in halves with me to purchase a cosplay outfit to wear to Dragon*Con. This site has lots of really cool anime costumes, and the prices are reasonable compared to other places I've seen. And they carry plus sized women's sizes, which I definitely need. The only problem now is deciding which one to get :G: One choice would be the Kikyo costume...not that I want to be Kikyo, I definitely do not (plus I'm not skinny enough), but I could be Kaede, I'd just need to get an eye patch and a wig. Other choices would be something from Bleach or possibly even Full Metal. Dunno. In any case, I suggested it to them just a few minutes ago, and dad just handed me enough money to cover 3/4 of the cost of a costume!!!!
Mom asked me about a costume for Hope. I think, since dad gave me so much for mine, I will offer to get her one as an early birthday present (her b'day is in October). I'll let her decide if she'd rather have that or season 2 of Avatar and a few mangas :G:
