Half sleepy ramblings.

There's a beautiful sunrise this morning.

Too much caffeine last night. My brain was overloaded and running on overdrive, so I tossed and turned all night, thinking thinking thinking.

I was in a super-rational mode yesterday evening, back to a left-brained state where my emotions and anxieties evaporated. Mayhap I shouldn't say that my emotions were gone. I was still very excited and felt very connected in this state. I was up until 1 am loading my brain with information, devouring as much as I could way past the point of bleary eyed comprehension.

I also was reading some of the webbot predictions and learning more about how the program scans the collective lexicon of the internet in an attempt to make predictions. I feel/felt I am on the edge of knowing something, piecing together bits and pieces in my dreams and waking state.

In other news I've been thinking about communicating with the spirit world and channeled information. I often feel like the membrane between myself and the normally unperceived is very thin. I had a professor tell me about his experiences with dowsing, and how being of a very rational scientific mind he was amazed by the experience, since he himself was able to do it and has no explanation for it. It's kept him awake at night.

So this is all leading up to me getting a pendulum. Probably quartz. I would like to talk to some spirit guides and I need a medium to do so, as my brain static is too intense for me to focus through.

And thanks to reading Neil Stephenson's The Diamond Age I've been thinking about nanotechnology and its implications and possibilities for us. There's a lot of potential for good there, but as the author points out, there is also a whole new wave of problems. That's the thing about our race. We always innovate our way out of the past problems, which is great except that we keep our old mindsets and programming and bring along or create a whole new set of problems. Maybe they're the same problems and they really have to do with us.

And Heinlein's Friday shows radically changed society based upon nearly free access to energy. Imagine our society where no one has to fight for energy. How radically different would we be? As a world?

(damn its cold outside today. -_- )
