Her hands fall down to her side,
Limp now, the twitching stops
I hold her close, and she’s gone,
I wish she hadn’t cried,
I pull my hand from under her top.
Its so near dawn.
I lay her own softly,
Her head resting against my knee.
I kiss her forehead,
The wipe the blood from the dead,
My lips taste the copper residue
That power surge ensues.
I feel my strength renew,
Time to finish what I set out to do.
I step away from my fallen friend,
So sad this had to be the end.
Smirking, I walk to the door,
Step out onto the second floor,
I walk down the hall,
Feeling ten feet tall,
I smell everyone around,
I hear the crickets on the ground,
No one could know the sensation I found,
As I step, without making a sound.
Laughing I feel the power swell,
And begin to dwell,
On what must be done,
My eyes dart out to the morning sun,
It bathes me in a new light,
Giving way to an astounding sight.
Awe inspiring it has to be,
To be able to see,
Everything that passes in front of my plane,
But I must refrain…
These newly acquired skills, are needed elsewhere,
They must be used to pay the fare.
The time is now, the moment is near
The ferryman, he’s… here.
