Its been far to long,
since I have seen your face.
Since that day he took you,
and vanished without a trace.
Through light
and back through shadow,
through rain ,
and knee deep snow,
to the beast,
I have given chase.
My arm with stretch forever
to catch up in this race.
Weary I am,
broken and weak,
I can already see
that our outcome is bleak.
On the grass, once more, I stand at a pass,
one way will lead astray,
the other will do, all it can to lead to you.
With all my strength I can amass, I cannot surpass
the fray that prey
on the few that are true.
I have a simple choice,
but no voice.
Yet the choice is also complex
and the consequences vex.
If I go to the left
then I do not avenge your theft.
If I turn to the right,
I continue to fight.
But a hero must be strong,
and I have been weak far to long.
Just a man nothing more,
a human, bruised and sore.
I look east and west, and decide what to do,
toward hell and the battles ensue.
