A message to all our friends in the CanGames community
We here at CanGames had been holding out hope that we could host you all at our convention in May, to give everyone something fun to look forward to once the current COVID-19 measures could be relaxed. Unfortunately, as we all know, getting through this situation is taking much longer, and requiring more aggressive measures, than was thought in early days. We have now been told that the Rideau Curling Club will be closed through May.
In the circumstances, we are cancelling CanGames 2020…
Daniel Bouchard, President Cangames
Cangames has been officially cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was only a matter of time before this announcement would be made. I too, was hoping beyond hope, that their was a slim sliver of a chance that it might happen. But, once I heard other events, concerts, etc., announcing their cancellations I knew it was inevitable.
This year at the convention I was planning on running an out-of-print RPG called Time & Time Again by Timeline LTD. It’s a time traveling rpg where players go back in time to interact with history. In this particular scenario it, that came with the game, our adventures go back to the Fall of Saigon in 75 to retrieve something.
Even though the convention is called. I’ve decided to run the adventure I was planning on running over on a Virtual Table Top during that weekend. I will basically call it my Cantgames Convention (you see what I did there. Since it’s still over a month away, I can make some tokens and some maps for it but other than that it will be good to go.
