Manifesting this into a kiss

Evelyn Waugh rocks my socks

"'Contra mundum?'
  'Contra mundum.'
'Bless you, Charles. There aren't many evenings left to us.'
And that night, the first time for many weeks, we got deliriously drunk together; I saw him to the gate as the bells were striking midnight, and reeled back to my rooms under a starry heaven which swam dizzily among the towers, and fell asleep in my clothes as I had not done for a year."

~Brideshead Revisited

I love this book. There's little I do not like about it. It's...straightforwardly magical, provoking, resounding deep within your chest like the low notes on the grand piano; delivering a simple concept like the "romanictic friendships of the English" with such force and profoundity that I find myself being more influenced by it than the film (as I expected, actually, but never to this extent!).....
There's new scenes, obviously, and the humour later on is raw, like cursing and dark satire.
However, some parts are riproaring. And so I find myself laughing aloud, especially when Sebastian speaks to his teddy bear.
