I've really started to dislike Gackt. I swear I never thought it could happen. I mean, I really, really dislike him. His music was so much better when he first went solo, and during his "Mars" CD and such. Now, I admit, I like "Cresent," his newest albulm, but only for track 5, "Mind Forest," "Birdcage," the song he did with Hyde, "Orenji no Tayou." And maybe the ninth track. But other than that... all the songs really suck. Gackt can sing a lot of different types of music, yes, but all of his ballads are the same, all of his edgier rock songs sound the same, etc, etc. And his voice never really changes. I mean, I seriously think that if Gackt wasn't so "sexy" no one would listen to him. I'll still download his songs for You's violin, though. Not buying a CD of his again, though. Waste of thirty dollars.
Miyavi seems to be getting more annoying by the day. Really, once you get past all the effects in his songs, his voice sucks. Get some friggen voice lessons or something...
Now, onto bands I like. Downloaded some stuff by Deadman, Shulla, and Gazette. All good. Tried to get some stuff by Kagerou, but the file was corrupt. Will try downloading it later.
The vocalist for Deadman had a really nice voice. It's really deep and has a nice sound to it. Aside from that the song I downloaded is quite catchy. Just wants to make you sing along while headbanging happily. Not saying I did this, however. When I burn it to a CD I probably will. Right now it's only on my computer and I can't prance around like a nut in the middle of the living room.
Gazette is pretty good, too. More heavier rock than Deadman, going by the one song by each band I have. More threatening sounding. The vocalist doesn't actually sing enough on the song I have to judge his voice. He kinda yells and growls the whole song. Makes it easier to pick up the lyrics, however. You know, so I can go around singing the yelling-growling song when said song gets burned to a CD and shoved in my walkman for weeks.
Shulla is just Shulla. I am forever amused by the cover of "A Song for XX." Makes me want to go screeching around and mocking J-pop, too.
Tried to snatch up some hide, but the files won't download right, much to my despair. Am I forever doomed to only have "Pink Spider" and "Dice" gracing my playlist?
Psyco le Cemu, is also great. Downloaded "Excalibur" over spring break (ha ha, perfect for the King Author project). Catchy, rockish. Vocalist is pretty good, but nothing memorable. Good enough to download more than one song by them. Mmm. Love "Excalibur"'s chorus and the whispery part.
Fake?'s "Antidote" creeps me out a tad. Mostly just whispering with some music. Ha ha, I love it was the singer says, or rather, croaks, "Antidote," though. Like the piano (?) in the begining, too.
Jyakura, who I never heard of until a week or so ago, seems to be pretty decent, too. I like the guitar in the songs a lot. Singer isn't that great, but I like the music well enough.
Anyone heard of Melt Banana and/or D+Shade? Wonderin' if I should download some of their stuff...
Shit AOL just got all fucked up and I lost the 63% of a Kagerou song I was downloading.
Oh, yay, it picked back up again. Gotta love temporary internet files. Lets hope the file isn't ruins after this, though.
Ah, file's good and fine. Now, as for Kagerou. The begining of the song - "Kakokei Shinkitsu" - seems a little distorted. The singer's voice is okay. Nothing spectacular. Or rather, it's great in a some spots, but other times it seems strained. The vocalist's voice, I mean. The song itself makes up for it. I like the guitar in it quite a bit.
