Well, Nixon--I mean Bush has been talking about bringing back the draft to send more people into Iraq. Now, before you get upset, think about it. His logic is very sound. You see, not enough young adult males are dead. We need the draft so we can send more of them to certain doom.
Honestly, the best thing we can do now is leave Iraq. They don't want us there. What Bush isn't saying is that these "pockets" of resistance are not rogue Hussein supporters. Honestly people, remember the first Gulf War when Saddam's soldiers surrendered en masse? Seriously, that many people are not willing to die for the guy. And it's not Al Qaeda cells either. They don't want us there. And let's face it, they're just going to overthrow whatever government we set up there anyway.
And if the over-patriotic Republicans would pull their heads out of their asses they'd realize that. After all, sending soldiers to their deaths doesn't sound much like "supporting the troops" to me. Bush is just sending Americans into another Vietnam and unfortunately unlike Nixon he doesn't care enough about the American people to leave office. We can not afford to wait another six months for him to keep on doing damage.
The only thing we can hope for is that someone in Washington wises up and impeaches him. They won't be able to remove him from office, but they will keep him so busy with the impeachment that he'll be unable to focus on anything else. You know, like what the Republicans did to Clinton.
