[The feed clicks on to nothing, at first -- except the sound of pained breathing and quiet cursing. There's the scrape of wet gravel and, finally, a figure appears within the camera's view -- a petite girl, blonde, lying on her back, her arms wrapped tightly around her stomach.
And blood pouring out from the wound.]
Mom...
[It's a quiet hiss,

He doesn't bother responding over the PCD, locating on Jo easily, flying to her side in an instant. One look at her makes it clear what point in time she's from and he kneels next to her, reaching out to her, gathering his strength for a healing attempt. He still hadn't used it on a human here, but now was more than worth the try.]
Jo.

And Jo even manages something of a weak laugh, even if it's hoarse and bloody, because he is exactly the right person she wants to see.]
Hey, that whole praying thing actually --
[But Jo grits her teeth and tilts back her head into the ground, squeezing her eyes tightly shut.]
-- where the -- hell am I, Cas, and what's going --

[He's not really listening, focused inwardly on his grace and arraying it correctly for the healing, concentrating from the extra effort it takes to do just about everything here.
He touches her shoulder carefully, attempting to fix the injury, working on the worst of the bleeding first, then replenishing blood loss, then the more superficial damage. Even if he couldn't repair it all, he could at least make certain she wasn't going to bleed to death. He had to have that much power, at least.]

She opens her eyes weakly to stare at him for a moment.]
... did you just save my life or did they let you back into Heaven?
[She pauses, before she manages a barely there grin.]
'cause if this is Heaven, I want -- to talk to a manager --

He looks up from what he's doing at her comment, and shakes his head slightly.]
We're far from Heaven, Jo.

[She's pretty sure she didn't do anything bad enough to warrant Hell, but who knows -- though Jo falls quiet again... for about ten seconds.]
Cas...
[She tries to push herself up onto her elbows, but the motion is a bit too much for her, and she settles for continuing to lay on the ground with a cough.]
Cas, the hounds were coming for us... my mom was with me, where'd she land -- ?

[He's still focused more on the healing, frustrated by how useless it is right now, and he doesn't want to explain what's happened right now while she's in this state anyway.
And it's becoming apparent they're going to need more help, so he splits his attention between healing Jo with one hand and pressing buttons on his PCD with another, sending a quick message to Raven.]

That meant Ellen was probably dead.]
... she stayed with me.
[It's muttered around gritted teeth.]

[He'd known as soon as he'd escaped from the holy fire that Jo and Ellen had died, and it had been a terrible blow, even if they'd all gone into the mission expecting the worst. He still wondered if he might have been able to save them if he hadn't walked into that trap, but dwelling on that did no good. And it would do no good here and now, either.]
I will explain everything to you, Jo, after you've recovered.

[She walks to them and immediately kneels down next to Jo before asking softly.]
I can feel you're hurting but I'm gonna help with that. Just close your eyes and clear your mind, okay?
[She's glad Castiel started the healing, because now the wound looks not as bad as she thought.]

[She forces a smile, mostly for his benefit.]
I'm wearing my guts for garters, I'm not gonna --
[But then Raven appears, and Jo squints slightly up at her, before she does as she's told and closes her eyes.]
Clear my mind, right.

Will maintaining my healing interfere with yours?

[She shakes her head slightly at Castiel's question.] No. It would actually be helpful if you could keep on with it.
[The wound is more serious than the ones she's used to healing and the angel's powers work as a guardrail for hers, allowing her to use more powers without being afraid of losing control. A white-bluish glow appears under her palms. The wound stops bleeding as blood vessels, skin and tissues start renewing themselves.]

She pries open an eye to look at Castiel questioningly before she pushes herself up slightly on her elbows, still weak and dizzy from the loss of so much blood, but Jo blinks her eyes open to stare in amazement as the bleeding begins to stop.]
... well, I'll be damned.
[It's a hoarse whisper, but the bright smile is worth everything.
She really, really, really did not want to die.]

[Jo's reaction is only natural but it's not helping. Because she's making it harder for Raven to fasten the healing process without having to force her control upon it. Raven starts panting a bit, sweat beading on her forehead as the wound is nearly closed up. But she's not about to give up until it's done. She's almost there. Just one more minute and then the white-bluish glow disappears.]
