[The feed turns on and remains silent for about a minute, as if Jo is contemplating whether or not she wants to say anything. But she does -- and she sounds positively irritable.

Also, that is definitely the sound of a gun being loaded.]

[Botan's considering, and on her way to flying out, just before responding to the message.]

I don't have a sledgehammer, but depending on the reason I might have something else that could help. Did you get caught in a trap?

More like a giant box.

A-

[She won't ask how Jo got trapped in that.]

I'm on my way. You basically need it broken open... How thick is the box?

I tried shooting it and it didn't work.

Then I'll have to use something with more power.

[And after about half a minute...]

Jo, considering I don't want to accidentally hurt you, could you get down as low as possible and cover your head?

[Jo immediately does as she's told, laying down flat on her stomach and covering her head. She offers a quick 'go!' to the PCD when she does, to let Botan know that she's as situated as she can be.]

[And about three seconds after Jo's 'go,' something certainly punches through the concrete... and possibly even to the other side. Not that it looks like Botan has anything on hand right now. If Jo got up and looked quickly enough, Botan would just be standing there with her hand in a gun-like position. All classic index finger barrel and thumb hammer.

That'd have to be quick though, because after the spirit guide is going over to the hole to make sure there isn't any rubble that broke off.]

Are you all right, Jo?

[Jo only lifts her head when Botan says something, and she looks up with a blink, covered in concrete dust, and she pushes herself up onto her knees, with her shotgun in hand.

... and she turns around to look through the hole on the other side.]

-- how'd the hell did you do that?

[Makes the hand gun sign again while checking to make sure nothing got stuck on top of Jo. Seems all right so far.]

Spirit Gun. It's proven to be rather handy during this event for helping people out of traps.

... ammunition free.

[Jo sounds suitably impressed -- and she looks alright, for the most part.]

Damn.

Not exactly. The ammunition is limited by how much power you use, and one's level of spirit energy. Once you use the energy up, you have to rest and get it back up before using the technique again.

Can anyone learn how to do that?

[She's dusting the concrete dust off of her pants as she stands, shaking out her hair.]

To even have a chance of learning the technique, one would have to possess some spiritual awareness. If one's spirit energy is as low as a normal human, the only energy available to use would be life energy. Which would... defeat the purpose, typically.

Huh.

[Makes some amount of sense, really, though disappointing that Jo couldn't learn how to do it. She loves a gun.]

How'd you learn how to do it?

Part of my job was explaining the technique to someone that was recently employed to the Spirit Realm. I was already trained to heal using spirit energy, so it's a difference in how the energy is collected.

So anyone with this spirit stuff can learn how to do it?

Do I have any?
