it is really quiet around the office- everyone is out of town for vacation or fam emergencies. i've opened up all the blinds in our room and it is still kind of dark because it is so cloudy today.
some weird things i do to make the day better
1)never turn on the fluorescent overhead lights. they make me feel like i'm in walmart and crazy by the end of the day. i'v read somewhere that this type of lighting is unhealthy and actually depletes your vitamin d levels.
a)turn on one tungsten light so i feel like i'm in a little cave.
2)listen to nostalgic, pre-1950's french pop, or old folk on the radio.
3)eat lunch really late in the afternoon (2:00-2:30pm) this way after I eat i have only a little bit of time left at work. delayed gratification.
4)cover my desk with plants (or two). this makes me happy but when they look dead from my negligence- it really freaks me out and i over react. a few months ago this happened and i put my plant in the bathroom to recoup and someone accidentally stole it from my department.
in other news,
jeff and i bought a juicer a while ago too (juiceman jr) it is awesome but i haven't really made anything past the first day. when debating on whether or not to purchase the thing- i made this huge, melodramatic argument that it would change our lives forever and we would be up at 5:30am everyday running before making the world's healthiest breakfast (fresh juice included, obviously).
i can't wake up before 7:45am. i can't do it. i think tonight i will move the alarm clock across the room. we'll see how this works... then maybe tomorrow will be the first day of the rest of my life. i'm challenging myself to make something tomorrow before work..
