Favorite Underrepresented Muppet?

I'm sort of in an odd mood, so here's an odd sort of question.

Everyone thinks of a particular muppet when they think of Jim Henson. Generally, it's someone like Kermit, Miss Piggy, Oscar the Grouch, or Bert (or Ernie). ...but most of us who grew up with them have a particular oddball favorite. Perhaps it's the Honkers from Sesame Street. ( Read more... )

Wow. I think I might have owned that album. I know I had the John Denver / Muppets Christmas album as a kid, but Roosevelt Franklin! Nice.

I still have a copy (in beautiful shape, I might add). Plus many others like Oscar's Let A Frown Be Your Umbrella and The Count Counts.

We had the disco album, Sesame Street Fever. And an old Sesame Street album on the cover of which Oscar the Grouch was orange. That really twisted my little head in knots.

I found a few on this page that I used to have, including the Merry Christmas from Sesame Street album.

Yeah, see? The very first record on that page, the photos on the back. Oscar = orange. WTF?

I am disturbed, despite years of hardening myself to disturbing things.

You have my sympathies, sir.

I think it's just poor color-faithfulness somewhere between the photograph, printing, and scanning phases.

No, I had that album and he was very clearly a proper orange. But it's okay, we have always been at war with Eurasia.

(During the 1969-70 season, he was orange. http://www.answers.com/topic/oscar-the-grouch )

I've got a bunch of those...but there are some there I've never seen (probably because they never came out in Canada). Trivia note: a former roommate of mine appears on the cover of the Anne Murray Sesame St. album.

Anyone remember the Sesame Street rock bands Little Jerry & the Monotones or Mick Swagger & the Cobblestones?

Oh wow. I remember so clearly staring at the pictures in the "Sesame Street Gold!" album and crying for hours when I found out that Mr. Hooper had died. http://www.flickr.com/photos/somebody/sets/339517/
