Lanes first report card!!!
He did so good. All were satisfactory. Well, one was an unsatisfactory, but thats my fault. I didn't teach him our phone number. I know, I'm a horrible mother. But by GOD he knows his address!!! ;) I'm not going to teach it to him now either because we are moving. duh. Anyhow, he did really good. I let him pick where we ate for dinner last night. He picked Outback. Thats my boy!!!! He even ordered the Joey Sirloin. Too cute. He ate the living holy out of it too! Nana told him that she's sending him some money to go buy him something as a reward for doing well. But the absolute icing on the cake.....Jon called him. This morning before we walked out the door, Jon called just to talk to him. He told him he was proud of him and to keep up the good work. It made Lanes day! We give a neighbor boy a ride to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and as soon as Lane saw him he started in on the fact that his Daddy called him all the way from Iraq and he did so good on his report card, and his Daddy in Iraq was proud of him, and daddy daddy daddy! It was so funny. This whole morning has made my week!!! I'm a bit teary eyed and I'm not sure why. I guess its bitter sweet. Gee, haven't done this for awhile. Aaaaanyhow, life is pretty good at the moment. We are down to a month left till Jon comes home, we are getting our taxes back, I get to actually go out for my birthday and get my hair done (finally, whew, can you say grey?), I'm going out Saturday to see a band at a local bar, I'm paying off two debts, my kids are happy, I'm happy, I'm losing a little weight, life is pretty good.
