From Ice Station PA
It has not been above freezing since I've been here.. the ground has a stiffness to it that I had forgotten feeling.
The house I grew up in is different in some ways.. nearly 50% more sq footage with the enclosed patio/deck getting turned into a family room, and the moving of the master bedroom downstairs into the old living room. And the house is the same in some ways.. same faded flower wallpaper in my room, same "worlds ugliest light fixture" there as well. The exact same 2 plants in the exact same 2 pots in the bathroom, still alive (over 20 years old now).
My grandfather seems ok to me, but he wont admit weakness when I am around (see, I get that from him) only when my aunts are. I am uncertain just how well he is doing, it seems even among the many doctors there isn't much solid to agree upon.
I'm alright.. but I was pretty quick to remember why I left. One of those reasons is the unsolicited advice. If I was living as an honorable man (says they), I'd be married by now.
