1- If you could add any one book to a high school English class syllabus, what book would it be?
SunTzu- The Art of War: The human condition in a nutshell, so much can be learned from this it's criminal not to have read it at least once.
2- Any plans to come back to Austin for a visit?
Not currently, my situation has to gel out here before I can consider a visit back. If nothing happens in a month I may return, tail between legs, for good. Alternately I may go elsewhere. If Sid can convince me of seriously wanting more road trips in the near future.. it would seem a whole lot more reasonable :)
3- Are you getting closer to finding what you're looking for?
Have to answer with a question: What do you do when you find what you are looking for, lose it, and spend years trying to find it again only punishing yourself for failing the first time (and every other time the same way). In short.. I'm getting closer to being smart enough not to look anymore.
4- If you could have any fictional character as your sidekick, who would it be?
Q : Bond would be cool, Star Trek would be even better :)
5- Is life really fair?
Justice is a human invention, not a cosmic law. Life is not fair at all. I struggle to be fair, to treat others fairly, and my heart really has to be in something to be unfair in anyway with someone. Recently I had the notion of unfairness crushed into my very soul, and sometimes it keeps me up at night. If I am going to forgive and be forgiven, all I can say is near perfect justice only can come with near perfect awareness. You can only get justice from those who know the whole score, and some folks really are not paying attention. One of the things I really hate about myself is the need to be the person who takes the "hit" to try and balance the pans... it ends up making me resentful for having to do so much and to still be treated like garbage.
But nobody said it would be easy.. or at least nobody said it to me :)
