In-game Notes
The following is a compilation of Nathaniel's notes in game. Most of them are written in code, or in multiple foreign languages (Hebrew, Czech, languages that aren't common to read). Let me know if your character attempts to get ahold of them as these are all written on paper copies and stored in safe places within his home.
Spirits
Faisal- a watch spirit who haunted the Taj Mahal before my summoning. Simplistic, lacks many personality traits- blunt, bland, boring. Preferred form is a bright blue cobra- preferred human form is a middle eastern man with a large beard. Arabic in origin, competent in English, does not speak much.
While he's not from my world, he possesses some magical strength- about that of a foliot. Useful for household tasks and minor sensor webs, would not survive a fight with a moderately powered human.
Bartimaeus- summoned here after I had been here a month or so. Same as ever.
The Animus
A gathering of a multitude of spirits intertwined with one another (as in The Other Place?)- seemingly omnipotent, very volatile. Some of them want to know what they were before the compression- curious as to their identity or sense of self. Does their lack of self torment them? Are they just as confused as we? Were they created with the creation of Adstringendum, or were they pulled in as well? What were they before their merging? Research.
Thalatte
"Fish" / ocean. Meek. Harmless. Desire to be free from the rest? Several apparently wear this name. Summonable, but it would be a waste of time, as well as alert the other animus as to my abilities. Ignore.
Aelia Laelia Crispis
"Orchid". Upon asking of her recollection of her sense of self-
'I named the flower after myself
or I liked its name so much to take it
I left records that I don't remember
my body's scattered
if I had one'
Scattered body = ashes, scattered among the orchids? Mentions of another animus "Fire". Asks- 'will you help learn the conflagration'
Summonable. Possibly attempt it in the future. By separating her(?) from the rest of the animus, there is a possibility of locating more of a sense of self. If nothing else, then she must assume a natural form in the circle.
