a couple hours after i got home, i decided to do a little checking into something....
and i completely disgusted myself with my findings...
despite how i know they can somewhat agitate a bag situation, i decided to attempt to do a couple
of full situps (chest to knees type variety). i found that i could not even complete one. i used to be able
to do 2 - 3 repetitions of 20-30 of them each without feeling it all too much.
so i decided to further the experiment...with full pushups... which i was only able to complete 6 of them.
this used to be a proud fact for me around the time i was taking tae kwon do... before starting that, i was only
able to complete about 5 or 6 of them...and sometimes that would be pushing it. after a while, i was able to do
about 40 - 50 of them.
i'm not an extremely physical type person..although i used to be quite a bit more...active i guess would be the term to use.
it's one thing saying one doesn't wish to do such things... it's another thing to find out you can nowhere near physically do
something that a few years before you had absolutely no real trouble doing. if i was in my 70s talking about my early 30s or 40s,
that would be one thing. however, this is me in my mid 20s....and having less physical ability (not to be confused with strength..
because strength is somewhat of a unnecessary gauge to use in my opinion in these matters) and perhaps even less physical
stamina compared to 8-10 years ago is a completely different issue.
so i have decided to start an hour before bed and perhaps if i'm able to get up early enough before work... doing some of the
old warm up routines that we used to use in martial arts class. it's a slow start, but it should be a good moderate way to start
opening up my body a bit getting into a healthy routine. most of these warm up excercises are in no real way meant to make
a person sweat... but more of a way to get the muscles loosened and worked up a bit...and to get the blood flowing again.
perhaps once i start conditioning my body to do such things, i could definitely start looking into the options of working out a bit
more to get myself to be more in the fit category...
it's not a solution for the particular problem...however it's probably a damn good step for me to take...
hell, it might even be a good start for me to practice up a bit again.....
