After sleeping, I feel much better about the whole stupid lost iPod. It's gone and I can't change anything so that's that. Maybe karma will kick some good juju my way & i'll find it somehow. **EDIT** I FOUND IT! :D :D :D :D Definitely fell into the broken seam of my jacket and was inside of the lining, smh. SO. SILLY. *face palm*

I was talking about tattoo's yesterday and my friend made a really good suggestion. Well, let me explain what I want first. I kind of already figured out one tattoo I can get that has multiple meanings for me. Tada:

Ain't she cute?

Obviously it's a giraffe and I love them long-legged creatures b/c 1) I don't know how many people already call me that as a nickname 2) They are fascinatingly beautiful and graceful (obsessed much?) 3) One of my life goals is to work with them in a zoo and/or in the wild. So, it basically represents what I want for my future and my love for wildlife. The second is that this particular giraffe is a character from The Giraffe, the Pelly, and Me by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake, who illustrated most of his literary work. Roald Dahl is my ultimate favorite childhood author (he wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the BFG (my fav), Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, The Witches, etc.). I remember when I got his anthology book when I was 12 and they had a page where he wrote the answers to biography-type questions and I was so excited (dork status!) to find out that he not only did he share my birthdate (Sept. 13), he was left-handed too. Yay for literary nerd-ness! <333

So, back to my friend's suggestion. She thinks it'll look nice on my rib cage & I like it but I think it might look better on my upper back a la Christina Ricci:

Originally, I was on the search for something that could go on my wrist(s) but I'm contemplating getting it high up on my rib cage, kind of like this:

but obviously straight down and not curved.

I might try to incorporate an acacia tree to further emphasis the meaning of growth and new beginnings for me since I want this as a fresh-outta-college tattoo but I can't find an acacia tree drawing by Quentin Blake on-line. I'm pretty sure he drew some in the anthology book b/c Roald Dahl spent some time in Africa and wrote stories set there so I'll have to wait until I go home.

In other news, it's so effing hot I think I might melt into an amorphous blob. WTF Ithaca, you go from brick-ass winter straight to summer? Good job. It was 90 freakin degrees today. That's completely insane. It's going back down to the 70's tomorrow, thank jeebus.

mmm, greesayy.

weather, tattoo
