(no subject)

Well, my promised and I'm sure, Much anticipated update post has been delayed.  I can't seem to find the time to devote to writing a well crafted narrative on what's been going on with me lately.  I did have a discussion with my sister on Friday which I can share with you.  This is at least a little insight into the "world of Rob."   More to come, I promise.

me: No riding yesterday due to the national weather service predicting floods and hail and snakes.
So I went to spin class.
 Marla: ah, the apocalypse?
 me: New low weight record.
I got punished on Wednesday.
 Marla: awesome!
  punished?
me: Sunday night I headed up to the camp in tt mode (time trial) Partially by necessity.
 I didn't leave the house until 7:50
  or maybe 7:45.
Got to the camp in 49:15.
  before dark.
Marla: woah!
  that's craziness!
me: So Wednesday, I rode with Randy (from the club, not my friend Randy) and we did the "Robbin Hill TT" as it will be called now. He was certain we could do it in 45 minutes working together.
Marla: where did you start from?
me: Not so much. After I aced him for the Frewsburg Townline sprint,
  Started from our house.
I was totally out of gas, and all of the way up Frew Run, he was waiting for me as I plodded along at near death speeds.
 Marla: woah!
Frew Run, as I remember it, is deceptively tough
me: But when it turned hilly, I was mostly recovered (wheeler hill and Robbin Hill) and I did ok there, but when we hit the camp, the time was 50:50. Bummer.
we really went too hard through Jamestown and between Jamestown and Frewsburg.
Marla: well, you made it quicker on your own. Hmm
me: Yeah, weird. Once we hit the camp, The sky opened up and lightning, rain and brimstone were hurled at us from above.

me: So Randy wanted the quickest route back to town. I gave him a vest to wear (skinny people get cold) and attacked the descent
  Wednesday. Sunday, I stayed there.
2:57 PM Marla: wow! I can't imagine turning around and riding that back!
  How was your time back?
me: Didn't have much of a choice: No camper keys, and Jonathan worked until 11:00.
 Marla: yikes
me: Well we didn't keep time, but half way down Wheeler Hill, the rain didn't quite stop, but it let up some.
Anyway, I can go SO fast down hill, and I've been riding those hills for, oh, 25 years....
2:59 PM I waited at the bottom of wheeler hill long enough that I got a little worried, and started back up the hill. Then I saw Randy coming down.
I really should blog this. I'm being quite descriptive.
3:04 PM Marla: wow!
  that's quite the descent!
3:05 PM me: Yeah. Up at the top, it was so bad, I had to take off my glasses because I just couldn't see. I'm sure that was a factor for Randy.
3:06 PM So anyway, we turned left onto Frew Run, and I put the hammer down again. I figured he would pass me, but I just set as fast a pace as I could....
Marla: yeah, especially since he doesn't have a 25 year history with those curves and such
  :)
me: That part is mostly straight.
 Marla: down wheeler hill?
3:07 PM me: Yeah, wheeler hill is curvy, but I lost him when we were still on Robbin Hill.
3:08 PM Marla: gotcha
we scare the crap out of Amy (a somewhat aggressive driver) when we drive on those roads! lol
3:09 PM granted I may be exaggerating a tad, but you get the idea
me: So, getting closer to Frewsburg, I noticed how far back he was and I "sat up" and slowed down. He caught me a little before Randy Wiltsie's house... But there is a sign just about there, so I had to attack.
Marla: wow! you kicked ass on the way back! :)
 me: I did.
Once he passed me, I jumped and got to the sign before him; (he didn't know it was there, but I still got it)
 Marla: lol
me: Then we cranked it back up (I think he passed me again) to 28 MPH all of the way to the stop sign.
Since it had stopped raining, we changed up / extended the ride by heading into falconer.
Marla: I just can't imagine riding that fast!
 how did you feel yesterday?
me: I kind of ran out of gas between Frewsburg and Falconer, and I was kind of working just to keep up with Randy.
I was ready to go yesterday. (except for that apocalypse thing)
 Marla: Go you!!
me: Yeah. Riding tonight by myself I imagine.
Marla: Was this Wednesday as in the day before yesterday? Or last week?
3:20 PM I still have to work out today. I woke up too late to do a video, and I was preparing for a crazy day
I'm still at the office even though I'm supposed to close at 2
me: I offered to miss the Ryder's Cup ride tomorrow if Jonathan wanted. He works at 1:00 or something like that until midnight. I'm leaving early Sunday morning for a race, so if he wants me to, I might stay home instead of going to the 9:00 a.m. Ride.
This was Wednesday (this week)

So as you can all see, I've been busy lately, but I'm also becoming a different person; have new friends, new (or restored) language full of fun new dialect and jargon and all that implies.

biking, fitness
