I'm not sure what time sunrise was scheduled to happen, but it hadn't happened yet.
Heading up our street, I felt good.  I just turned those pedals, and even accelerated some.  I turned down Buffalo street in the dark, and lamented the lack of any light on the front of my bike.  Sure the blinking light just under my seat might keep prevent a car from plowing into me, but what was to prevent me from rolling into some unseen abyss?  "Oh well," I thought, "at least I am riding. If I go out now, I'll go with a bang."  Of course I doubted that boldness with each harsh hit of my tires on some pavement crack or piece of debris...  As I turned up the airport road, I felt very capable, I pedaled, and the bike went.  The road started to climb, and I shifted, pushed, pedaled...  The sky wasn't getting significantly lighter, and I had no idea how fast I was going, but my HRM seemed to think I was working hard.

Cut to the chase!

  • I went for a bike ride  before work and even before dawn today.
  • 17.8 miles
  • 892 Calories.
  • Felt good.
  • Might go again after work.  I'm lovin' it.
