Finally, after several weeks of tiresome planning, they're making progress. The plans will be finalized soon, and then the towers will go up. And anyone who tries to stop that from happening will be taken care of.
That is, in fact, the reason for Tess' visit. To help Zod plan for security measures to keep unwelcome guests away from their precious towers once construction begins. Now Zod is in his element. Retaining order. Setting up defenses. Of course he is fully capable in other types of business, but he will always be a soldier. And that side of him will always come most naturally.
At the moment, the Major stands in the center of his current lodgings, waiting for his soldiers to announce Tess' arrival. His dwelling place is hardly a mansion. Unfortunately, keeping a low profile means making some sacrifices in personal comfort. The last thing he needs is to be discovered.
Zod's thoughts are interrupted when one of his soldiers--Basqat--approaches and kneels. "The human is not far," he says without looking at his master. "She has been spotted just down the road."
The Major merely gives him a nod and walks toward the entrance. He thinks it best if he meets Tess outside. When it comes to humans, Zod's soldiers are not near as charming as he. Might give Tess a bit of a shock, in fact.
He can't help but smile a little at the thought as he steps outside. There is nothing to do now but wait for Tess--along with her primitive means of transportation--to show up.
