I filled out my brackets as soon as they became available on the 5th, and yesterday evening I was able to see the first fruits of my labour.
7 games I called correctly:
Duke (1) 12 vs Loyola 7
Virginia (2) 10 vs UMBC 9
Syracuse (3) 20 (!!!) vs Canisius 3
Navy 8 vs North Carolina (4) 7
Johns Hopkins (5) 10 vs Hofstra 4
Notre Dame (6) 8 vs Colgate 7
Maryland (7) 10 vs Denver 7
And one upset I didn't count on:
Ohio State 15 vs Cornell (8) 7
Maryland plays at noon on Saturday the 16th at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis against Virginia. (UVA)
Other matchups in the quarterfinals this weekend (and my prediction) are:
Duke vs OSU at Cornell (Duke)
'Cuse vs the Irish at Cornell (Syracuse)
Hopkins vs Navy at Navy (JHU)
Then in Foxborough (ESPN2) I think Duke will beat the Blue Jays, the Wahoos will top the Orange, so Duke and UVA will play in the title game (just like the ACC title game). And, duh, it'll be history repeating itself from one month earlier where the Blue Devils will take the trophy (ESPN).
