ROBERT PATTERSON AS EDWARD CULLENS?!?!?!? CEDRIC?!?!?!?!?!
I think my heart has just stuttered and died. Wow. I'm... speechless and I have no idea if that's a good or bad thing. I mean, I love 'Cedric' and Robert Patterson was a good choice (give me my AUs where he lives!!!)... but... as Edward? EDWARD?
I'll need to think about that.
Also -- my computer is incredibly slow because I'm currently downloading North & South (I'm totally falling in love with Richard Armitage. I love you, Guy of Gisbourne!!!) but I truly can't believe that it's an Elizabeth Gaskell book. GASKELL. I hate Gaskell. I tried reading Mary Barton for my 19th-C Brit Lit class back in second (third? Yes, third) year of University and I got about six pages in before I decided that I absolutely hated it. I mean, I get it, Gaskell was a freedom fighter for the rights' of the poor of England, particularly in industrial London. I get that, and I respect that. But her novels SUCKED.
And I am incredibly wary of anyone married to a Minister. No offense, really. I'm just... leery. Wary. Whatever adjective you'd like to include within that list.
So, I'm surprised I'm going to watch it -- but Richard Armitage is worth it. He's my Snape. He's exactly what I pictured Snape to be like (no offense to Alan Rickman, but he's my Sheriff. And British actor from Galaxy Quest first and foremost in my mind. Not Snape). What do you think?
Anyway, on top of North & South I am also downloading Hotel Babylon. I've seen the promos on BBC America and heard tons, and imdb has it listed as 8.8/10 with roughly 2000 votes (and N&S at 9.3/10 with the same! WOW!) so I thought it would be interesting to see what it's all about. And, as it happens, I prefer British humour to that of North America (ie, Canadian... eew, Corner Gas... and American slapstick, which I desest regardless). It's probably why I love Life on Mars.
Speaking of, my parents and I finished the series off last night, watching the series finale. It was FAB! I love how it was left open-ended, although my dad still believes that Sam Tyler was in a coma; I believe he time travelled, and my mum doesn't care either way, because it was a copper show and I think she's beginning to have CSI/NCIS withdrawal with reruns.
Robin Hood was alright, but I'm still having severe "wtf!" moments which pull me away from liking the second season as much as the first, although next week's two-parter season finale (third season is the final, I believe) takes place in the Holy Land, so... so far my only two-thumbs up is that King Richard is young. Ish. Well, way younger than Patrick Stewart at least! Weeee. Finally, something right!
Off to find something to eat for lunch. I sincerely hope my parents do get me Purdy's strawberry Rosa chocolates... maybe I should call and make sure they do while they do Christmas shopping at Vaughan Mills... hmmm...
PS: CANADIAN AND AMERICAN CHRISTMAS CARDS SENT. They'll probably be late. Sorry!
