Day 15 - Warnings - What do you feel it most important to warn for, and what’s the strangest thing you’ve warned for in a story?
Part one: Warn for sex and excessive violence. Language maybe, if you're writing for a younger audience. After that you can warn for things like rape, character death, especially if either involve minors. There really isn't much that can throw me when I'm reading, but a lot of those will. I was reading a good book by an author I respected and had enjoyed, and suddenly this character said the F-word and it ruined the experience. I had to put the book down, it was so jarring.
Part two: I don't think I've ever really warned for anything out of the ordinary. Character death, graphic sex. Purification is my only story up that has a warning and that warns of "hints at character rape and abuse". I'm just not exciting enough I guess.
