Johnny Fucking Cash
So regarding Johnny Cash's last works, it seems to me that most attention is given to his various covers, and probably for good reason. Off the top of my head, Hurt, Personal Jesus and Solitary Man are all excellent.
That being said, my favorite work of his from this era has got to be God's Gonna Cut You Down. I mean, the first time I heard it, I decided right then and there that Old Man Johnny Cash singing about how God was coming to Get Me was one of the most awesome and absolutely frightening things I'd ever heard.
Thought I'd share it, though most of you have probably heard it.
