So, most of you have probably seen on the news that there was a really bad accident on 590 between Monroe Ave. and Winton Rd. I was sitting in traffic on Monroe not aware of the accident, just realizing that it was taking extremely long to get through a single traffic light. I thought it was just because of rush hour. I usually get on 590 S and take that to 390 N to go home. Sometimes I'll take 590 N and go to 490 W. Today, like most days, I passed the entrance to 590 N and headed towards the entrance to 590 S. When I got to the entrance ramp there was a NYS Trooper blocking it. So I was like, okayyyyy. I got my headset on and called mom to see if she'd heard anything about what was going on. When she picked up the phone and heard my voice I could tell by her voice that she immediately teared up. She was so scared that it was me in that accident. That's the stretch of 590 that I go on probably 3 days a week. And the accident happened at a time that would have been very possible for me to be on 590. And one of the cars in the accident looks similar to my car, but of course after the accident you couldn't tell very easily what kind of a car it was. Crazy. Two fatalities.
Seriously, that makes me think so much. Driving down the stretch of 590 that I drive on all the time, someone didn't make it home. Two someones. In the blink of an eye. Everything could be gone. Just like that.... I'm just thankful for my life right now.
