Reflection

Have you ever cared so much for someone that you have this longing inside to take away all the things in his life that causes him pain?  To take upon yourself all the causes of anxiety, to pull the roots of confusion?  To remove and confine in a far away place the things that cause uncertainty in his life?  To lift the weight of all burden from his shoulders and place it on your own?  To walk around the world just to close the gap between you?  To provide for all of his needs and offer comfort and encouragement at all times?  Have you ever felt a longing to give someone the hugest hug just to let him know you care?  Have you ever stood by and watched someone's life so closely that you feel like you're living it too?  Have you ever felt someone else's confusion?  Perceived so deeply the things of his life that they become your own?  And when you sense stability you feel like you're on top of the world?  Have you ever cried when you've seen someone else get hurt?  Or said "ouch" because you felt it too?  Have you ever felt the depth of love, deeper than any ocean, higher than the sky, beyond all the bounds of the boundless universe?  If you have, you have felt like Jesus feels toward you.  May you feel more deeply for others the way Jesus feels for you.  Jesus' love is deeper than any ocean, wider than the skies, greater than anything the world can offer.  May you know God's love tonight.  And care deeply for the people in your life with the love of Christ.

I have cared for many people in the ways I have described.  But never have I cared as deeply and in such a way as I do now.  May it grow deeper still.
