Well, I am moved back home and have mixed feelings. I'm happy to be home, but I miss my room mates terribly already. They were like my family for two years. It's definitely a tough transition, but I am grateful I'll be home and away from it all... I think that will help me to really, really focus on student teaching next semester.
Just checked my grades... 4.0!! This past semester was by far THE MOST challenging, and I worked really hard, so I'm happy to say the least. :)
Next week starts my summer class.. Geology - Rock Science. Should be riveting.... (not...lol). It's M/T/W/Th from 8:00am to 12:00.
My room is all unpacked and sickeningly organized. I got rid of clothes, old papers, knick knacks, everything imaginable. Not that my room was messy before, but I want a clean slate and perfect order for student teaching.... gosh, I'm OCD-ing already, and it's only the start of summer. :-p
Some good news :) As both of you know, Eddie (my aunt Mary Jo's father and a very close friend to the family and neighbor) passed away in March. Some blessings have come out of the sad situation. Aunt Mary Jo offered Eddie's house (two houses down from mine) for me to live in over the summer..... and through next school year if I could find a room-mate.
Only utilities will need to be paid for (which will act as a very low rent for my room mate), and I can live in the house for free (which is amazing.) They want to take the next year to do some maintenance on the house before putting it on the market, and it keeps insurance lower for someone to be living there. Plus, they know it would be nice for me to have my own space, but I'll be close to home (very, haha) which is comforting.
Well, it just so happens that Brittany is looking to live somewhere new, so she and I will be room-mates!!!! She'll only have to pay around $250-300 a month to cover utilities. I'm soooooooo excited :) Brittany is moving in sometime in August or a little earlier, and I'll be moving in earlier than that.
It seems too good to be true, so even though it's all pretty set in stone, I'm still hoping it will really work out this way.
Gotta do annoying stuff tomorrow like schedule to get my car inspected and go to the financial aid office. Then me and my roomies are going to see Maria conduct her high school kids' concert at the school where she student taught. I'm happy to be reunited with them again... (even though we've only been apart for a few days.. haha)
Lots of Love!
Hope to see you both soon!!!!!!
