I went to a party in a clearing on someone's property, a little south of Lawrence. There was a huge fire that was on it's dying embers, but due to the size of it, it's dying embers were gonna last until dawn. Folks were also encouraged to camp if they were to drink, so it said on the filer. I watched the fire for a while, then the sky for a while, then a few really drunk folks psyched themselves up to run across the fire pile. Katie and I had a bet on a guy. I was risking a dollar (if I had a beer, it would have made for better betting); I thought he would only make it halfway across the pile, but I should have know that a smoldering pile of embers will motivate your ass to keep going and make it across. No matter. 70's dance music was pumping about 20 feet away, so I changed locations.

"She was the dancing queen......only 17....having the time of her life"

There is definitely more to this party, but nothing of much interest. Unless you like quiet contemplation mixed with your party.
